New patients

What happens before, during, and after your first appointment.

Your first visit is an evaluation. Plan for roughly 45 to 60 minutes. Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of medications, any imaging reports or surgical notes you have, and a physician referral if your plan requires one.

Wear clothing you can move in and that allows access to the area being treated — shorts for a knee or hip problem, a loose short-sleeved shirt for a shoulder or neck problem.

Your therapist will take a history, screen for anything that warrants physician attention, measure range of motion and strength, and watch you perform the movements that bother you. You will leave with an explanation of the findings, a plan of care, and usually treatment on the same day.

Insurance participation and referral requirements should be confirmed with the clinic before your first visit. Call us with your plan details and we will check.
